Big Indian, NY lodging under towering pines

A Little Bit About Us

Cold Spring Lodge has been welcoming guests for more than a century. Skiing, hiking, and hanging by the fire are among the top attractions. Bringing friends and family with you for reunions, weddings and other celebrations – priceless. We’re dog friendly too, so you can even bring your four-legged family members. We will continue the tradition of country hospitality that make the Catskills famous, dating back to when people escaped the city by train and in stagecoaches.

Set in the heart of the Catskill Forest Preserve and the New York City Watershed 80% of the land in our area has been designated “forever wild.”  The tallest mountain in the Catskills is just up the road and the DEC hiking trails, combined with the famous Esopus Creek for fishing, make this an outdoor paradise.

“America’s First Wilderness”  was once the playground for the rich and famous, including the Roosevelts, Kennedys and multiple Supreme Court Justices, and is witnessing a rebirth after the devastation of Hurricane Irene in late 2011, drawing environmentalists, survivalists, and those wanting to experience what little is left of the original American wilderness.

We may be wild but we’re wired, with free WIFI and Roku internet TV. However, on rare occasions, WiFi may be spotty and not work well due to extreme weather in the area. Although cell-phone signal is poor in the area, we have a Verizon booster, WiFi calling and a Spectrum internet phone for your use as needed. Our cabins are fully stocked with all the linens and amenities you’ll need to enjoy your time away.  Always pet friendly, there’s lots of room for your favorite dog!   Whether you want to unplug or stay connected, hike or nap, you’re going to have a great time at Cold Spring Lodge.  Call us today and see why our guests keep coming back.
